AMA Arenacross Series

Arenacross, which consists basically of downsized Supercross-style courses, placed into smaller venues such as ice hockey and basketball stadiums. The popularity of Arenacross is growing, since smaller cities that do not have large football and baseball stadiums that can host Supercross races.
Arenacross held its first open in 2006 which achieved high attendance counts.
The AMA is using AMA Toyota Arenacross series as a way for riders to transition from amateur racing to Supercross. Many Supercross privateers also race Arenacross.

Three-Time Champion Josh Demuth Defends Title Against World’s Best Arenacross Racers
AURORA , Ill. (August 30, 2010) – Feld Motor Sports ℠ announced today the 2011 AMA Arenacross Series schedule, which includes 14 stops, begins at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla., January 8 and concludes at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa on April 9.
Amateur National @Arenacross Championships Crown 23 Champions in Las Vegas #AX
AURORA, Ill. (May 12, 2010) – The 2010 AMA Arenacross Series came to an official close last weekend with the debut of the Amateur National Arenacross Championships (ANAC) from Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas. The ANAC featured the nation’s top amateur arenacross racers across 23 classes, competing for the chance at a national championship the same weekend as the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, season finale.

(March 27, 2010) – Just 24 hours after Babbitt’s Monster Energy/TiLUBE Kawasaki’s Josh Demuth, of North Richland Hills, Texas, claimed his third career AMA Arenacross Series championship, teammate Chad Johnson, of Rhinelander, Wis., captured the 2010 AMA Arenacross Series finale on Saturday night from the Denver Coliseum to secure the runner-up spot in the AMA Arenacross class championship. U Motors Honda’s Tanner Reidman, of Bismarck, N.D., won his second career AMA Arenacross Lites victory to sweep the weekend’s races.
