The truck access to the utility lines seemed to get him all freaked out. Id put a Forester against any stock small SUV on any road.

Oh YEs!!!!! it is within the same segment with big ones like Rav4 and CRV, and Vitara is ALL THE WAY MORE CAPABLE than all others. While all others are based on sedan platforms, Vitara is a Body on Frame based chasis SUV, True off roader design.

    worst driver ever!

  11. eivd0ne on July 22, 2010 at 11:49 pm

This driver can allmost be crowned Worst Driver Ever! How dumb can you be, almost no unmodified road car can go over that without getting stuck. And this guy is testing cars… Who the hell would hire him for this jobb ??

Factory tires suck for off-road. Put Good Year MTR onit
Skid plate sucks, first time in the mud and it was gone Needsmetalone, standard is cheap plastic This really sucks
But what i really miss is a diff-lock in the axles. One rear wheel in the air and one front wheel in the air and the car goes no where!! Same in the mud
But we use it a lot off road, last time they had to get me out with a 300HP tracked dumper
But still i like it and in most situations it can get out of the mud

On the Suzuki Grand Vitara, is the outer surface of the front bumper metal or plastic?

I’m seeking a way to add a small electric winch short of installing a grill guard. If the bumper is metal, I may bolt the winch directly to that.

By the way, I’m open to suggestions from those with winch experience.

Suzuki holds the record for pikes peak rally. Suzuki knows offroad. If you know anything about automotive you ll know Suzuki competes heavily in off road.Which they take that experience and put it in cars they make.

Would be interesting to see how long it takes for the hill descent system to shit itself going down a muddy hill.

Also that isn’t that steep. I’ve got my Holden Commodore up hills just like that.

Also I’m not a snow driver, but shouldn’t you have chains on when you try to go over the snow?

  17. nerddog69 on July 23, 2010 at 2:42 am

    Both I’d say.

Vitara rocks off road if you know how to use it. I’ve even taken mine down quad trails with great success. Let’s see you do that in your full size truck! As for snow: 4 wheel drive + non bald tires = you can drive until you’re plowing snow.

harjindersingh18 — actually you’re wrong — i have one of these and it’s a more than competant car off road — I reguarly use it off road in Western Australia and have passed heavy weight FWD’s — patrols , cruiser jeeps etc – bogged in the sand.

It never snows here mind — so can’t comment on it’s winter ability

  23. RedneckBart on July 23, 2010 at 5:27 am

Do your research. The Suzuki Grand Vitara is one of the last few AUTHENTIC import SUV’s in the sub-compact class. It’s build on a true ladder frame and has a low transfer case (4L & 4H) that many competitors don’t have, like the RAV4, Sportage, CR-V. Plus, it kicks ass for off roading.

  24. harjindersingh18 on July 23, 2010 at 6:13 am

vitara is only good for half feet of show on your drive way.. rest it sucks…

  25. Focusport2005 on July 23, 2010 at 7:06 am

Is that more of a girl suv or guy or both.
