this is one reason I always like Honda over Toyota even in sports cars the S2000 was epic and even in environmentally friendly cars Honda had gotten it right.

Even Canadian has sucummed to the lazy politicaly attractive oil revenue social program dependent mentality.
Where are all the altruistic deep pocketed philanthropists who are our only hope of changing the embarasing primitive status quo?

@trevorlsciact hydrogen is the way to go.

  8. stpierrewm on July 11, 2010 at 1:26 am

@trevorlsciact It doesn’t have the exact same problem. Shell gas stations are already making hydrogen cleanly on the spot at gas stations. And it obviously has some problems, but so do all new energy sources. One of the greatest benefits with hydrogen is that you can refill on the go, unlike with a battery. If you wanted to charge a battery that quickly, you’d need some ridiculously high voltage. Both vehicles will have to be tried, but I believe if Honda can market it well enough,

  9. trevorlsciact on July 11, 2010 at 2:09 am

@stpierrewm But it still has the same EXACT problem. There is no free hydrogen it has to be made by splitting water (the most green way that still puts the burden on power companies) or by getting it from natural gas, which pollutes more and is still a fossil fuel. And Hydrogen is less efficient as a storage medium then batteries.

    @Nichen

    And what’s wrong with that?

    Prius… sucker.

BMW have had their hydrogen powered car prototype before 2002 (im not quite sure eactly when) Yes it does burn hydrogen in an internal combustion engine and not a fuel cell. However that means that whilst we transfer to hydrogen you can use petrol (gas) in places where there isn’t a hydrogen station

    Simply Amazing

  14. beHIndthecoDE on July 11, 2010 at 3:52 am

this is the way i think aswell. prius’ and all hybrids suck to drive and are a pain in the ass and so are battery powered cars. hydrogen fuel cell technology is the future

  15. CWR032 on July 11, 2010 at 4:47 am

@pvtjamesryan3 Um, do you even know where gasoline comes from? Crude oil is a finite resource. It WILL run out unless we stop using it before it does.

  16. teddyd2009 on July 11, 2010 at 5:19 am

i HATE “green cars” like the prius… but this is actually awesome. i live in chicago, and my family owns a honda pilot and 2 acuras. so we love honda and i love this. im getting one as soon as they make them available here haha

  17. pvtjamesryan3 on July 11, 2010 at 5:53 am

“sadly, one day we will run out of oil”

That is a flat out lie! Oil prices will go up based on supply and demand, but we will never run out. The higher the price, the more reason to go to an alternative fuel.
