Indoor motocross facility may come to Indiana, Kingsbury

Plans are in the works for an indoor motocross facility in the Kingsbury Industrial Park.
And developers are hoping for a November of 2012 opening.

Carl Spicer, a former business owner in South Bend, said the planned project, which has yet to be finalized, involves the construction of a 83,000 square foot facility in the Kingsbury Industrial Park, located by the current Dirt Mx outdoor motocross track. Read more »

Lake County - Orlando - approves motocross complex over objections

TAVARES — Over fierce neighborhood objections, county commissioners approved a conditional permit that could allow a 20-acre motocross complex in Cassia, a quiet community better known for black bears.

"This is the wrong place for it," said Laurie Stahl, whose home abuts the old fernery where L.J. Norman wants to build at least three dirt motocross tracks, a clubhouse and a campground for off-road riders and fans.

Motocross reopens — with some conditions

Dirt bikes, quads and other all-terrain vehicles are once again tearing up the dirt track at Cadillac Ranch Motorsports Inc. in Rainier.

But they’re not breaking the law this time, said Guy Jaques, Thurston County Building/Compliance Unit Supervisor.

Cadillac Ranch owners Larry and Holly Mahan reopened their track a few weeks ago, which follows Thurston County code.
