Qualcomm Stadium was host to round six of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship. 58,782 fans were in attendance and SPEED broadcast the action live. SPEED will re-air the broadcast today at 3:00 p.m. (EST), and FUEL TV will have a re-cap tonight at 8:00 p.m. (EST) as well.
Davi Millsaps and James Stewart both transferred to the main event from their respective heat races without incident. In the main event Stewart began the race in sixth position with Millsaps just behind in eighth. By the fifth lap Stewart was in third with Millsaps seventh. On lap six Stewart went down in the treacherous whoop section and in a bizarre occurrence was caught under his motorcycle unable to free himself. Only after a track worker with a pocket knife cut a piece of snagged material from his riding pants were they able to separate Stewart from the bike and thus pick the machine up and off of him allowing him to get up and re-enter the race a lap down in 18th. At the finish Millsaps was seventh and Stewart was able to salvage 15th place.
