All is quiet on Motocross National Championship Eve

The night before the Motocross National Championship and all the factory teams are quiet. Most every race has been run and each team has taken there shot at the points lead.

It was team TwoTwo Motosports Chad Reed that got out to an early lead this season but wrecks, bike troubles and most recently poor finishes have made him fall back in the chase.

Team Makita Suzuki's Ryan Dungey has been there week in and week out; except for some mechanical failures Dungey has been one of the most consistent riders this season, not to ignore the performance by teammate Brett Metcalfe including his first US Motocross overall win.

But it has been Team Kawasaki's Ryan Villopoto that has taken advantage of the others troubles this year. He has remained mostly consistent, fast and finished in the top 3 most of the season. But Ryan still struggled much of the season seeming to score points in spite of troubled races where he had to work harder than it seemed he should need to.

Then the team made the switch to the 2012 KX450F – not only did Villopoto capitalize on the change but even teammate Jake Weimer displayed consistent top 5 finishes following the bike swap.
